1. Identify Needs and Budget

Determine the primary purpose of the aircraft, like long-distance travel or flight frequency, and set a budget that encompasses monthly lease costs, operational expenses, and potential maintenance.

2. Research and Choose a Lessor:

Seek reputable aircraft leasing firms like Auslink Aviation to cater for corporate or private clients, taking into account testimonials, referrals, and possibly firsthand facility visits.

3. Select an Aircraft

Choose an aircraft based on your specific needs, considering potential viewings or test flights to ensure it's the right fit.

4. Understand Lease Types and Decide

Decide between a dry lease (just the aircraft) or a wet lease (aircraft with crew) and clarify who covers maintenance, insurance, and crew costs.

5.Negotiate Lease Terms

Settle on the lease duration, monthly payments, any additional costs, and finalise end-of-lease stipulations like return conditions or potential purchase options.

6. Undergo Credit and Background Checks

Expect lessors to perform credit and background checks, akin to other significant financial undertakings, to validate your financial stability.

7.Review and Sign the Lease Agreement

Before signing, consult with an aviation attorney to scrutinise the agreement. Ensure understanding of all responsibilities, then sign and handle any initial payments.

9. Operate and Maintain the Aircraft

Depending on your lease type, commit to regular maintenance checks, insurance, and the hiring of a skilled crew. Stay in open communication with the lessor about major maintenance or operational concerns.

10. End-of-Lease Procedures

As the lease concludes, determine if you'll return the aircraft, extend the lease, or explore purchasing options. If returning, adhere to the agreed-upon conditions.
